Paul Quigley - Ghosts of Poverty - Painting

About the Artwork

My process was derived from using each canvas to mix colours for other paintings. This created a simulacra effect upon which I embellished and developed imagined images; just as I would do when mixing multiple sound waves. This series began unintentionally but as I started realising the accidental formations from blobs of colour it became impossible to mix paint without intention. The series ended when I stopped the embellishment and left the mix formations as abstract.
