Anthony Lawson - Abstract Creation
Imperfect shapes from the subconscious mind meet colours from the conscious mind and join to form an abstract image.
My process uses the subconscious mind to instruct the shapes while the conscious mind chooses colour to create abstract images. When I work on a picture my only thoughts are about colour, the mind is totally focused almost in a trance-like state. When a picture is finished I feel unsure about the result but in time I begin to accept the outcome and the picture appears to take a different shape. I prefer to produce abstract work as it allows me to be spontaneous and free. I have no formal training in art and only started using oil and acrylic in 2008.
