Studio Upstairs is a working arts community where people produce their own work with the option of being exhibited periodically throughout the year. Facilities are available for painting, drawing, mixed media, digital and some 3D work. Basic materials are provided. Individual time can be arranged for discussion of work or other issues.

Studio Upstairs is for people whose interests, abilities and talents can be expressed through the arts, yet
for various reasons are unable, or actively choose not to participate in the already existing institutions -
with particular interest for those who have suffered from mental health difficulties, or are in drug
and alcohol recovery.

Studio Upstairs is managed by a team of practicing artists, art therapists and psychotherapists.
Attention is given to dialogue and a need to be heard, encouraging movement from
isolation to relation.

Studio Upstairs can negotiate with social services for membership fees or
alternatively an independent contribution can be made.

There are two Studio Upstairs sites, one based in London and
one based in Bristol.
