Social Prescribing

Online Art Group (Merton)

This online group is free to Merton residents 18+ who are interested in exploring how visual art, creativity and working in a group can support positive mental health.

Our weekly group started in February and meets online every Thursday for a total of 12 sessions. An initial conversation is had to ensure that the group will meet your expectations, from then if you wish to join us we will send a pack of basic art materials to get you started.

Each week members discuss with the group what they would like to focus on. We offer guidance in getting started with simple techniques, themes and projects.

We welcome people with long term mental health difficulties, as well as people who are going through a period of depression or recovery and with an interest in art, no matter their skill level.

Our facilitators are trained Art Therapists and practising artists working in the ethos and unique model developed by Studio Upstairs and adapted for remote delivery.

If you are interested in joining or simply want to find out more details, please email southlondon@studioupstairs.org.uk.
