Bristol Creative Writing Group
The group was started in 2003 as a place for members to meet regularly and write in a creative, supportive environment. Writing in such a space parallels that of the painting studio where artists are encouraged to experiment and take risks, and the work taken into the public eye.
A number of anthologies showcasing their writing have been produced including the publication Feral Rain which was produced as part of the Studio’s 20th Anniversary celebrations.
The writers regularly read at our Open Studios and have done so at Can Openers in Bristol’s Central Library, Halo Café, on local radio as part of South Bristol’s Love Festival, at the ISPS Conference at Bath University and AHSW Showcase in Taunton. They have shared their work at a number of exhibition previews such as Beyond Appearances at the CREATE Centre, Expressions at Paintworks and a special fundraiser at the Grant Bradley Gallery in 2009.
