Studio Upstairs Bristol strives to be the first port of call for arts and health in the city. Our work is funded by Bristol City Council and City of Bristol College: that covers 70% of our cost and we must raise the rest.
Even though the demand for our service is higher than ever, our resources are severely stretched and your contribution will make a significant difference to increasing opportunities for vulnerable people to create art and positively change their lives.
There are many ways to support Studio Upstairs.
Cheque
You can make a donation by sending a cheque payable to Studio Upstairs and addressed to Jelena Stanovnik, Studio Upstairs, Units 1 & 2, Albion Dockside, Hanover Place, Bristol BS1 6UT.
You can increase the value of your donation, with no additional cost to yourself: if you are a tax payer, 28p will be added by Inland Revenue for every £1 you give.

Donate online
Go to the Charities Aid Foundation website then type Studio Upstairs in the search box and click donate.
Please don’t forget to include GiftAid if you are a tax payer.
Payroll giving
Payroll giving is an easy and efficient way to give to Studio Upstairs. It enables you to give to charity before you pay tax, which means if you pledge £10.00 the cost to you is only £7.80, if you are a basic tax payer. Some companies will even match the contributions of their employees.
Your company’s payroll department should be able to help you set this up. They will need to know our charity number (1058590) and address (Studio Upstairs, Units 1 & 2, Albion Dockside, Hanover Place, Bristol BS1 6UT.)
Government provides incentives for organisations of up to 500 employees to set up payroll schemes – set up grants are available and Government will match employees’ contributions for six months for up to £10.00. More information on the incentive can be found on www.payrollgivinggrants.org.uk
Sponsor an artist
Studio Upstairs prides itself in operating an open-door policy, which means that access is given to anyone who thinks they may benefit from our services. Studio Upstairs does not receive payments from social services for a third of its members, which poses a financial challenge both to the organisation and the artists, majority of whom receive state benefits.
It costs £2,000 per year to support a member attending one day per week. By sponsoring a Studio Upstairs member, you will demonstrate your commitment to supporting emerging artists and making a real long-term difference to people’s well-being. Further benefits for you include invitations to Studio Upstairs artists’ exhibitions and possibility to receive an original piece of art.
If you are interested in this scheme, please contact Jelena Stanovnik on Mondays or Wednesdays. |
